Ar-mant Mu-baike is a story of resilience, power, and defiance. Through a cinematic tapestry of stunning landscapes and harrowing realities, we witness a nation on the brink. Environmental devastation, unchecked deforestation, and climate-induced disasters have set the stage for an existential battle. At the helm of this fight is Yvonne Aki-Sawyerr, the Mayor of Freetown. Navigating political sabotage and environmental collapse, she fights to reclaim her people’s future against an unrelenting environmental crisis and the forces that profit from destruction.

This story unfolds in a nation where entire communities are sinking—literally. Yeliboya Island, the fastest-sinking region in Sierra Leone, watches its only mosque threatened by the encroaching sea, while its 4,000 inhabitants await a promised but elusive relocation plan. In the capital, the city mourns the fall of its 400-year-old Cotton Tree, a historic beacon of freedom, brought down by a merciless storm. Each loss is a warning, each survival an act of defiance.

Through the struggles of Mayor Aki-Sawyerr, Chief Pa Adikali Kamara of Yeliboya, and activist-teacher Solomon Musa, the film unearths an urgent narrative of resistance. As elections loom and political tensions rise, their fight is not just for policies but for the very survival of a nation caught between human greed and nature’s wrath.
