About Me

During the war I was caught and taken to the bush and I was there for three months before I was able to escape. When I found my family, I was told my father was killed and we moved to Guinea to protect our lives. After sometime we heard that the war was over then we came back. I want to partake in film/video production because it improved countries like Ghana and Nigeria. I also want Sierra Leone to be among them.

Meet WeOwnTV youth filmmaker, Sheku Sheriff. As a former child solider who found an opportunity to escape rebel control, he describes memories of civil war. Having survived the war, Sheku believes the ability to learn is a gift from God. He is committed to learning and making future contributions potentially as a lawyer, journalist and filmmaker. The pride and passion for his culture and country are compelling.
